Hi... I'm just getting used to my new Bessa T, M-mount.
I bought the T as a 2nd M-mount body, and have the CV 25/4...
and a Jupiter 50/2 m39 will be coming soon. Of course both
the above mentioned lenses are used with Adapters.

I'd like to hear from Bessa R users, how many turns it takes to
change a lens, and how convenient screw mount lens changing is??

This poses a sort of philosophical question I'm currently discussing
with Ruben: Do we use our RF cameras primarily with one lens...
or do we change lenses often, as with SLR's?

Let's hear and ciao,
mike

I've just counted 2 and 1/3 turns.

I rarely change lenses when I'm out, either with RF or SLR cameras. What I usually tend to do is choose two lenses that I feel like using, stick them on bodies (some combination of Bessa-R, Bessa-L, Olympus OM) and go out with them. For example, on my last trip out, on Saturday, I took my Bessa-L with 25/4 and an OM2n with a 35-70. And on the previous shoot to that I took the Bessa-L with 21/4 and Bessa-R with 35/2.5.

On the rare occasions I change screw mount lenses mid-shoot I don't find it a problem, but it tends to be in situations where there's no rush (I was out doing a few architectural shots recently, for example, and was changing between my 15mm and 21mm CV lenses on the L, but I was in no hurry because the buildings weren't moving much 😉 )

But in situations in which I know I'll want to be swapping lenses a lot? They're rare, but I'd take my OM SLRs (though I'd have an RF in the bag too - probably my XA).

2 5/8 turns

Start at 11:00 and finish at 7:00.

Sit down or work over a bag or grass as this is how most lenses are dropped.

11 till 7? Gee, Ronald, that's a lot of time getting a lens screwed in. Maybe you should consider the M? ;-) (sorry, I HAD to say that, it was just sitting out there waiting...)

Convenience depends on how often you do it. I can swap out a lens a lot faster now than I could a year ago. Having said that, I don't think anyone will suggest that the screw mount can compare with a bayonet system.

I usually bring 2 (maybe 3) lenses out and will swap them out as needed. I usually like to have a wide (CV 28 or 35) and a 50 (Jupiter 3 or 8). I'll throw in something longer if I think I might want it.
