sd card goes bad

Problems with my MAC too

Problems with my MAC too

Got my RD-1 today. Boy am I giddy with expectation. Did a couple of test shots and tried to load them onto the Mac Mini with OS X Leopard, via a card reader. However the disk was not recognized. Its a SanDisk Ultra II, 1GB. I then moved the card to a Samsung NV7 compact and was able to access the files through it. Did a format on the MAC, neither camera recognized the card. Formatted it (full) on the Epson and both cameras see it OK. Though still need to use the Samsung to load the pics onto the MAC.

The RD-1 had upgraded firmware. I´ve bought it with the CV 28/1,9. Since the former owner can´t use the other lenses without the camera, he´s been so gracious to lend me a CV 35/1,4, 35/1,2, and a 21/4. Along with a Nikon SB-22 flash. I´m a lucky ba....d :D

joe, don't save money on the card, period.
Not sure about in CA but in US, there is always sales on Sandisk extreme II/III SD(HC) cards. As I remembered the r-d1 can't take anything above 2g?, the extreme II/III 2G costs probably 10-15$ max. The regular SD card is even cheaper (non-HC).

Pop a roll of film into a camera and you know exactly what it will do ... and it never fails to do it every time.

Unless you didn't load it properly and it doesn't wind on, or the lab loses it, or their chemicals are contaminated, or...
R!

I use the Extremes in my Ricoh, but frankly, I've found the Sandisk Ultra II works well enough for me in the Epson, and you can find them for a lot less.

happened twice with two different cards, Kingston make, reviewed photos whilst card in camera, no problem. Got home card reader wont read card, then camera won't read it either. Cards were formatted. Photos lost.!!
Seems to be the equivalent of opening film camera before rewinding!!!!

Can't load pictures on to MAC nor PC: SD card

Can't load pictures on to MAC nor PC: SD card

Have now tried the same SD card on a PC, and it won't recognise it either. At least the MAC says so, the PC doesn't bother (or PC's rather: XP pro and Vista Home), it just ignores it.

The funny thing is that the Epson and the Samsung both read the card, and record onto it in separate folders even. The card could be read on at least one of the PC's before being loaded into the Epson. No matter, I'm ordering more cards anyhow, and degrading the Samsung to act as a card reader doesn't exactly pull at my heart strings.
