Searching for a leather original case for contax II and III

the screw size in the cases comes in two sizes. I have cameras and cases with both 1/4" and 3/8" screw sizes. Might want to check to see which size is needed.

Interesting. Does this correlate to feet versus meters focusing scale, by any chance? My Contax IIa is in feet and has the 1/4" socket. (Which, on closer inspection, turns out to be an adapter permanently mounted in the 3/8" with a tiny grub screw. Good thing, as I tend to lose the adapters.)

Also, the original case is not all that practical. It does not come apart (not without surgery, at least) and if you shoot with a Helios 103 a lot, it won't close with that one mounted. Based on my IIa specimen, at least.

Zeiss offered collapsible and non-collapsible cases for the I, II, and III cameras.

The case I sent Mauro is for a II with a collapsible lens (will also fit a 25/4 Topogon, 28/8 Tessar, and probably a Biogon).

Looks like cases for III's are still needed...

Right. I have a long nose case, I suppose, but the H-103 still won't fit. My other 50 is a collapsible f/2 Sonnar, which can stay extended, even with a filter on.

Hi,

does a Kiev leather wouldn't be easier to find ?

This will for sure fit your Contax, but yes you will not have the zeiss embossed logo.
Only one thing I am not sure about is whether the screw is the same or not

Hi everyone - I have Kiev / KNeB cases for my Kiev II / III and have half cases with fronts removed to take care of the Helios problem . [ one old Kiev 4 case with screw moved to suit the older cameras , the other a black one ex-Kiev 4m which is so ugly ]
I also have a Contax II case for my collapsible together with one which suits a J 8 .
However , I would just like a proper Contax case for my Contax III . For no practical reason !

I have cases, but I find myself removing them so that a quick film change is possible whenever it is needed. In the end, I have cases without cameras in them.
