Sebastião Salgado in Siberia - in pictures

My experience is, that people who mainly look at technical details like noise or dynamic range don't really care about photography.

Those of us who're photographers or even retouchers have been cursed with the knowledge of technique, we no longer have that luxury of those who simply look at photos as photos.

I have spent a lot of time with Salgado's other books and they have been inspiring, Genesis fails for me because I find the look of it distracting from its subject. The lack of detail, texture and that sense of depth that is present in all his other works simply does not exist in Genesis.
