Can't argue with that. Especially the R6 and R6.2.The R system is still kind of sexy.![]()

most of the genesis film work was shot with a mamiya 67.
the film issue wasn't just about the airports. it was about the logistics of handling so much film throughout the whole process. the lab prints are from a negative created from the digital file.

He still (last time I checked, haven't read the OP's article yet) converts them to negatives and works in a darkroom... well, maybe not him personally, but someone does![]()
His printer, at least some of the time, is Nathalie Loparelli:

you can get her to make your prints too, and at surprisingly affordable prices.

haven't rewatched it but I do remember some people ragging on her for her unique way of working. I think I felt a certain fondness because some of her workflow is/was similar to mine and not what some printers (sticklers shall we say) would consider orthodoxy

I too loved the video of Nathalie Loparelli making prints. It is the first time I have actually seen the process. It does look magical and even quite mysterious.

He's been photographing a lot longer than the R6 has been around...
Right. Looking back through books, it seems most of the work i like best was probably done with Nikon SLRs. Just goes to show ya....

What makes you think they were "probably" done with Nikon SLRS ?

Yet he creates a physical negative from the digital file. I've always wondered why he did this but I bet the final prints look amazing.
They do look amazing. I've held many of his prints and actually had to destroy some to preserve his rights as a photographer -they were extras at the lab, which no one was entitled to but him and he didn't want them. It was a heartbreaking day to say the least.

IMHO it's irrelevant what camera or medium he uses.
From F's to Canon's along M's, R's, Mamya's and 645's.
It is always apart and unique photography.
Many thanks for the link's.
