Ha Ha...I bet that was pretty surreal being menaced by an elf! I'd have loved to have been there!
Andy, I think you're probably right it was a bit of a tough task to set myself. Fingers crossed i'll get it right, but that's the beauty of photography I suppose it's a continuous learning curve.
I hope my reply didn't come across as being too defensive I know I've still got a hell of a lot to learn. I appreciate the fact that you were open and frank with your reply because as you rightly mentioned a case of emperor's clothes doesn't help anyone.
I just enjoy the fact that each time a roll get's developed I feel like i've learn something new or think of a new way to try and get a shot the next time. That's got to be why it's so addictive and perhaps why this forum is a pretty cool place. I suppose we all have these things in common.
As for safety, you can never be too careful, there is always some scruffy urchin who'll try and steal your gear, so i always try and stay alert. Luckily I've not been physically threatened so far but this might have something to do with the fact i'm 6ft 1" 16st and damn ugly! It's the one redeeming feature of having poor genetics!
