$300 for a R4a is a no-brainer... you can always sell it for $500 later.

I like to have a backup on holiday, but it does not need to be the same type of camera for me. Having a second body for second body's sake? Not for me.

I do carry second M2. I stick to 50mm lens on both, just different film speed (400 & 3200 ASA or 100 & 800/1600 ASA).

I only use one film, normally one lens, and will not even use a camera bag just a pocket full of film and a spare battery.
But I always have a second body & lens not more than one hour away because there is always the potential for problems. You do not want to be left high and dry.
The second body has saved my butt when I was out of the country photographing and my primary developed a problem.
