Very similar bodies: Canon P and VII, mostly used for B&W. Bessa-R which has TTL-metering, for color film. Bessa R3M (1:1 finder) for M-mount lenses. Another great complementary should be the B4M... but probably my next camera will be the new digital Pentax SLR.... (can't afford the M8)

I own both duplicate (Nicca IIIS & Tower type 3) and complimentary bodies (Kiev 4, etc, etc...). At the moment I'm really liking having 2 (nearly) identical bodies that I mix & match with either focal length or film. It gives me variety/flexibility, but I don't have to think about using 2 different cameras... Consequently I haven't used too many of my other rf's for a while now.

As Frank said it above, would you add a second woman to your life? Maybe this is an incomplete question .... ? If it had been: "If you are totally happy with whom you have, would you add another woman to your life, knowing that you will lose the current woman ? This concept applies to the situation when you must sell yourt first RF cmera to get another one. With a Zorki-4, this concept does not apply unless you are on a $30 budget for cameras.

I use my Leica M3, M6, IIIc, Standard and CL on a "fair" rotational basis. Each girl gets a shot at old me. I am a happy dude!

Currently I have a single M6 with a single 'Cron 50mm - so far serve me quite universally. However my next to 50mm focal lenghts are usually longer ones (at least from my past SLR experience) and I intend to broaden my portraiture horizons by 90mm lens, so I'll be looking for a higher magnifiaction body, presumably another Leica M6 but 0.85 or probably even M3 with x0.91 finder (if can get convinced film loading of M3 isn't much more combersome then of M6 which is quite convenient as I figured to myself).

The loading of M3 is far from a problem for me. U can get used to it in 5 mins.

My primary RF is a Leica IIIf RD. I still have my original Leica IIIa purchased in 1952, but it is a candidate for a CLA, though will still work if needed.

Sorry Raid, this is wrongly interpreted. What I meant was, if cameras were women, would you get an identical clone of your sig. other, or would you find a totally different woman more interesting, remembering that variety is the spice of life.

What this means is that after I got an M3, my second camera was not another M3, but an M2.

Well, I don't know about this argument Frank. I come up with two different answers when it comes to replacing my camera and my wife. I now have two different RF bodies, a R2 and M2, and I consider them complimentary. However, I use the M2 95% of the time. I have found other cameras interesting, but not interesting enough. I would clone my M2 without a second thought; Now, regarding my sig. other, my wife...well, let's just say I've been married nearly 20 years to the same woman, and if I ever found myself in a position of having/wanting to replace her, I would not clone her but make an attempt to follow the above mantra, just to keep things more interesting.

M2 ---> clone it
spouse---> don't clone

Maybe I should have married a M2...
