Hello to all. I have just purchased a Canon "e-p" rangefinder from a co-worker. I would like to get it serviced by a qualified tech that has experiece with these types of cameras. Any recommendations of such a person would be greatly appreciated. I will attempt to post a pic with this post.

You are very lucky- the Canon 50/1.5 is "uncommon" compared with later lenses, and a desirable Sonnar formula lens. If the camera goes tp 1000, it is a Canon IV, if 500, probably a Canon IIf.
I've had Essex service my Canon P, and have also had good service at KEH in Atlanta with a Leica CL.
Youxin Ye Does NOT service Canons.

I have used Essex Camera in New Jersey, and was very happy with the service. I don't know where you are located, but they are a good choice in USA. BTW, your camera has the internal dial on the shutter speed dial, and appears to have 1/1000 high shutter speed. This makes it a IVSB2, which is a really nice Canon bottom-loader.

Thanks for helping to ID the camera. I have tried on my own. It's not easy.

I have also had a couple of Canons serviced by DAG Camera, in Wisconsin. Very good service, but turnaround time can be several months or more. Good guy to deal with, though.
Getting back to the ID of your camera, a IVSB2 will have high speed shutter progression of 1000, 500, 250,125,60,X,30-1, B and a low speed progression of 30, X, 15,8,4,2,1,T. The Canon Camera Museum site is useful for identifying the various Canons, but you should note that they have a typo concerning the highest speed of the IVSB2- it is really 1000 rather than the 500 shown on the Specifications page. The camera with the same shutter progression without the 1/1000 shutter speed would be the IIS2. Link for IVSB2 is http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/...4_4sb_k.html?lang=us&categ=crn&page=1933-1955

Congrats on a great camera. I had DAG do my IVSb awhile back and he did a great job resurrecting a badly abused camera.
Where in Wisconsin are you?

I can recommend a guy named Karl Bryan, who (if memory serves) is in the Pacific northwest. Google him -- I don't have his contact information ready to hand. He specializes in the Canon rangefinder cameras and Minolta Autocord TLRs. Fine work, fast and quite reasonable.

I second Karl, he did an excellent job on my Autocord and he is the nicest guy to deal with.
Cheers,

Ok Luc, Who is this Karl Bryan? I did a bit of Googling and all I came up with is the notion that he is somewhere in Oregon (maybe near me?). We have some pretty decent repair people around here, but it is always good to know who else is around, particularly people who are willing to work on rangefinders.

Thanks very much for all the advice. I have a quote from DAG. Very good communication from Don.
No response yet from an email to KEH. Maybe I should call.
Just sent emails to both Karl and Mark.
Your help is really appreciated.
