Blade Runner & Last Samurai. Two from my top 5 list.
Last Samurai doesn't really belong anywhere near Blade Runner. Japan has a history of cinema as rich as that of America. Loads to appreciate besides that sad Tom Cruise vehicle.
As for the Leica store in Kyoto: I don't think there is any place in the world that I'd rather visit right now. Lovely video.

Next vacation destination decided.
Does it open to public?

The best camera is one that still works!
This is the era of slick retail presentation. Walk into a motorcycle dealership these days and it's very different to the ethos of yesteryear. Wooden floors, a general clutter of bikes, accessories etc and a smell that was unique. I miss those days and I suspect that the Leica boutique in question would not really appeal to me ... it's too detached from the product itself IMO.
I think I'm now just an old fart trying to embrace the past!

I wonder down the line if retailers like B+h, Adorama and the usual others,
will slowly be curtailed, as some watch companies did for some time..
Here one retailer "Downtown Camera" in Toronto, has it's first shipment.
I wish them good luck.
Truly.
The stuff sent was chosen by Leica!
The same bad deal as Rolex does..
I bet they, Leica will see how good Toronto is..
A few US retailers have come here.
with not the least idea of Canadian buyers..
Target is one non event.
The lenses sent with are wow!
One's i would never consider..
but i guess i would never buy Leica stuff new..
maybe that's me!
I guess Eh!

Keith, I saw the place as 'intimidating', almost too beautiful to be welcoming. That said the video is a stunning piece of work, and reflects the thoughtful and beautiful design of the shop.
Motorcycle shops may have changed to go after upscale customers, but there are bicycle shops that are still the same.

I have never been to Kyoto, but have always wanted to go. Leica has given me another reason to make that trip happen, hopefully sooner than later.
