I have a couple of cameras with Selenium meters that are dead, and I wondered who is recommended for replacing such meters and what the cost might be.
My Contax IIIa and Konica IIIM would be worthwhile the effort and cost [maybe].

While in general I would not consider spending money on some old Selenium meters, the Konica IIIM has a large meter, and having it brought back to life would be great.

I would like to know too. Its a shame these things die. Imagine a pre war contax with working and reliable meter.

Mike Elek seems to have a thread in which he explains how it is possible to "bring back to life" what appears to be a dead Selenium meter.

I had the selenium in an old Rolleiflez TLR replaced by Ken Ruth of Bald Mountain Photography(someplace near Santa Cruz, CA). Did a great job and reasonable price. I have seen his ads in the back of the usual photog magazines.
