Self timer on MP?

Does MP has a self timer?

Unfortunately not.

Nope. The place for the self-timer is now occupied by the battery. Not even the old, original MP (issued in the 50s) had a self-timer.

Leitz eliminated it to save some money.

You can use the cute little mechanical timers that screw into the release socket. I like using them - it adds to the sense of occasion!

Leica has lost self-timer technology, and even the Sultan of Brunei couldn't resurrect it. That buzz as the clockwork winds down is part of a mechanical Leica's charm. On Bulb, the ST gives you another shutter speed of 2 seconds!
