If you only want to block the front element from the sun and protect it, try one of the Oriental knock-off's on E-Bay for
$10-20. They do the job just as effectively as the manufacturer's high priced models.
Good luck if you are one of those who feels your photos won't be the same if the hood doesn't say Leica on it.
