Sell To Buy?

What do you guys think?
Now that the issues with the sensor are resolved and prices are still dropping, should I get back into an M9.
I would sell off my last black painted M2 which I never use and seems a shame. I've had it for 6 years now and it was the test bed for all my repainting and is probably the best one I did.
I would also sell my recently acquired M6 and a 3 element Elmar 90.
I would still have my M4 for film use but seem to favor using my Nikons for film use anyway.
A decent M9 can be had for around €2000 now and an M9-p for not a lot more.
What would you do?

Can't say. Very happy with my M9-P. Some thought it silly to get it over the M9. I don't have to worry about the LCD scratching, and it looks like the M2 and always creates that uncertainty. (Mine's chrome.) But letting your last black paint M2 go? Definitely only your call.

I wouldn't hesitate to get the M9. Your black paint M2 is a repaint as you said and not exactly irreplaceable should you suffer remorse at some stage. 🙂

Getting ready for a two month trip to Asia with M9 and M2. If push came to shove, I would leave the M2 at home even though it is my favorite. The advantages of technology are just too hard to leave behind for certain subjects (travel).

I have had no urge at all to get an M240 or any other digital Leica. Roger Hicks said something in a post to one of my subject threads "the M240 is not really an improvement over the M9, more a lateral move". Get a M9.

Last summer on a two week photo trek, I took the M-E, M6TTL and M3 and about fifty rolls of film. At the end of the trip, I'd shot over 5000 images with the M-E, and only three rolls of film. There's something about the M9 series of cameras (M9, M9+, M-E) that just make really pleasing images. And are quite enjoyable to shoot with.

You have the skills to cloak another M2 so I'd go M9.

longer battery life, better low light performance, quieter shutter noise, more memory buffer, better LCD screen IMO are worthy improvements from the M9 series, however if budget doesnt permit the M240 series nor the improvements doesnt affect your photography then the M9 is no slouch either.

Don't overlook a used M240. The are selling for less than $4,000 now and are surely more reliable than a M9.

As long as you plan on using the M9, it sure makes sense to sell stuff you don't use to fund it.
