...cause I just bought a Mamiya 7 with the 43mm & 65mm lenses. I'll miss the collapsable lens mount but am STOKED about the superwide angle as well as the 65mm lens which is very close to my 'natural' lens length. My favorite lens to date was a Leica 35mm ASPH Summilux.

I've spent the last 6 weeks trying all sorts of alternatives, 4x5", RB67, RZ67, Hasselblad, Fuji GX680, Rollei SLR's, etc, etc. All of them had strong points and weak points, all were great cameras. But in the end, I decided I didn't have the resources to support a stable of specialized cameras and still have money to shoot as much film as I'd like(and more importantly pay for my daughter's education...).

So I decided to stick with the trusty Mamiya rangefinders that I know so well from my 5-Block project from last year. Of course I'm a litle concerned about precise framing and DOF control but the quality of the lenses and ability to haul it around easily carried the day. I have an extended trip back to Japan this summer to visit the in-laws and could really see myself dragging around a Fuji GX680 and huge tripod...

The M7 is a great camera. I have the M7II. Actually it is up for sale because I really wanted the Xpan which I now have.

Well, that's all great. But, you said nothing about the mamiya 6 you're selling :)

It'll go on ebay later today. If any forum members are interested, I'll give a 5% discount off the final auction price which is what we do over on the StreetPhoto list. I'll also donate 5% to RFF. Email me through my website and I'll send the auction item number after I post it.
