I'd go back to Japan in a heartbeat.
Just got back from Tokyo. Its getting colder there... I'd vote for a warmer location.

Been to Tokyo three times. I'd go back any time I could. It's a wonderful, huge, complex city with many many opportunities for photography.
Nothing wrong with any of the others either.

I picked Buenos Aires, mainly because I haven't been there and would like to see some shots from there - and it is getting to be spring there!

Just south of you is Yosemite. No passport or visa necessary or luggage restrictions, x-rays, etc. Just sayin' it's your own "backyard"

Tokyo and Madrid are great, but I've never been to Buenos Aires so that get's my vote. Tango and red wine... And springtime too.

Madrid. Lovely light that seems to last the whole day long.

First vote is Buenos Aires - especially as a Yankee, the cost of everything there is SOOOO cheap. I went there a couple years ago when the exchange rate was 3 pesos:$1. Last I looked, it was now 4 pesos:$1. Which makes things insanely cheap. My $150/night hotel room would now be $112.50 , and my $10 steak dinner would now be $7. Second choice would be Madrid, because I love Spain. Things there wouldn't be so cheap, though. The Euro is being stubbornly strong against the dollar.
