Did you buy a second one?
The 22nd is good for me. The beer garden sounds ok if the weather holds up (presuming there is an outdoor). I do think we should be making the most of Puck's while they are still around.
Heads up; that weekend is the art book fair at PS1. We ended up there last year after Cal's "life-march". It was great, but super busy, so not really a group activity. Highly recommended for anyone interested in art and photography books.
Christian,
Thanks for the heads up on the Art Book Fair. I've been thinking about a second MM because if my current Monochrom ever dies or becomes unrepairable it would be like the end of the world for me. Jean-Marc is MM number 3. Also know that I generally use to shoot and carry two film M's all the time.

Hi Cal,
I will not be able to make the Sept/Oct RFF meets -- on the road. Will join up at the next one.
Cristian, yes, the temptation from Klaus and Cal's MM did me in. I succumbed.

Cal, you'd survive... there are plenty of great cameras out there to use.

A couple of links to the place. It is much bigger then Harlem Public.

John,
I have plenty of cameras: this isn't a problem. It just that the Monochrom is without peer (high ISO, B&W only sensor, MF resolution in a M-body).
The only thing I can imagine being better is a monochrome version of a Leica "S" where more megapixels is combined with a bigger pixel. Pretty hard for me to imagine otherwise another monochrome digital camera that meets or surpasses the MM otherwise.

Keith,
The menu for food looks good to me. Definitely more upscale than Puck Fair.

If you're thinking biergarten, Loreley, down on Rivington is great. A lot of space out in the back and pretty big tables inside as well.

They have a Leica-like camera drawing on their homepage! I bet they'd be happy to have us!

That looks like a Minox. So maybe we should stay away

Where will the meeting take place? Can I suggest the new beer garden in Harlem. Not as far uptown as the last time.

There are several comments on Yelp about the loud level of music and overall it seems to be a noisy place. But anyway I'm not sure if I can make it on the 22nd. Just returning from a business trip that week.
I'm ok with either location... the norm or something new. However, we are a talk heavy group, so what Klaus is stating should be weighed.

I also read that the noise level is very high. BTW one of my ears is dead already (right ear) and I have a hard time communicating with only one good ear.

I can bring my canon 50mm if you want. I might also have a FSU 50 lens floating around

That would be great if I don't find a lens, I would just try it out while I'm

Bob,
I'll try to remember to bring my 35/1.8 Nikkor in LTM. This lens is small and offers no VF'er blockage.
Also let's make the location Puck Fair. Let's blame it on my dead ear. I can't really hear too well because damaged hearing. It started young with my dad yelling at me all the time.

It's okay, it was a short love affair I sold it. I just could not get used to it
there was something about it if it was the screw mount or something it didn't
work for me.

You couldn't hold on to it long enough to bring it to the meetup? We don't get to see many canon rfs.
