New York September NYC Meet-Up

So many interesting things on the other side of the ocean...maybe one day I'll be able to join you :)

Robert,

I only found out about Photoville yesterday via an e-mail blast. In NYC it is a vibrant chaotic lifestyle that is a lot like "The Hotel California." One gets rather addicted to being hyper-stimulated and life can get over the top if you want it to be.

I kinda love that the world is kinda represented here, and it is a place where over 200 languages are spoken and about a third of the population of now 8.5 million are immigrants.

The only place I know that can compare is perhaps Toronto which has 180 languages spoken there, and about half the population are immigrants.

Life in NYC can get overwelming though, and the weather can be hellish and deadly. Basically anything can happen...

Joe,

That is the place for us to "Group-Up" at noon. The location that Steve provided the link for is very nearby.

You really can't miss this landmark, and this is why I picked the Location. For PhotoPlusExpo I am using Louis Mendez as the iconic landmark that everyone knows to "Group-Up" at 10:00 AM Saturday September 22d.

I'm sure we can find a place to bev-up and eat.

You must be bruised by now.

Christian,

Only pretty recently did I find out I broke both my collar bones sometime in my past from a doctor. Pretty likely from mountain bike crashes at high speed, over the bar, endo's...

Never really ever stopped or let pain bother me.

Somehow I diverted the September Meet-Up to Dumbo, all at the last minute. LOL.

Hi folks,
Just wanted to express my thanks to everyone in the group for being so welcoming to the newbie (yours truly) at the meetup in DUMBO today. It was lovely to meet everyone, and to talk about photography :)
Sorry I couldn't say goodbye to everyone before leaving - I lost track of many people after we split up at Photoville this afternoon.
I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
All the best,

All the best,

Great meeting you, Raj.

Also, great seeing everyone else as usual. A really fun exhibit, too bad I had to dip out early. Looking forward to the next meetup!

Fidel,

I've had to make time to stay in touch with friends.

Life has gotten busy for many of us, but we do what we can.

Time passes, butlet's not let gaps develop.

It was nice to see everyone for the short time that I did.
I ended up wandering around and picked up a Noctilux from the Leica booth to try out around.
Interesting lens, we'll see how the shots come out.
Also spent some time at the Bronx Photo League container, great photographs and prints there.
