service a Nikon 35ti?

I have not had him repair anything for me, but I'm thinking of sending my Nikon FE to him. If you feel like having a go at it yourself, there is a repair manual here:

I did mine when I encountered the same problem, I opened it up and cleaned the contacts around the shutter release. It seems to work fine now.

That could be very helpful: you had an erratic shutter as shown in the video, and solved it only with cleaning the contacts around the shutter release?
I'm asking because I was contemplating the rpair myself, but I was sure that I had to reach for the shutter itself (and was seriously concerned about this)
 
Watching your video I heard the same noises as mine had. I would get overlapping exposures and blank frames on my films. I cleaned all contacts I could access after removing the top cover. The shutter contact itself is encased so I gave up trying to clean that. The operation will take you some hours, you have to remove the cover skin to get access to the screws holding the top cover. I managed to save the original skin, just take your time and do it nice and slowly.

I got a similar camera with precisely the same problem. Blank frames, overlaping frames and very well exposed frames (in a random unpredictable order). A local trusty repair technician was unable to solve this problem.
Please keep us updated on this. I would really like to have the camera repaired.

My 35TI has been sitting on a shelf for 2-3 months after I cleaned the contacts, so today I figured it was time to do a test. I loaded up with Kodak T-max 100 and went out shooting. Just a few minutes ago I pulled the film out of the rinse bath and I have 37 nice looking frames with perfect spacing and what looks like perfectly exposed shots. During the shoot there was not a single hiccup and I switched the camera on and off 10 to 15 times. I even tried a shot on P (program) which I never use, and that one looks fine as well.
I'm very pleased to have a working 35TI again, I had written it off totally for about half a year. It was in fact one of the RFF members who set me off trying to fix it, he commented that many of these electronically controlled cameras fail due to dirty contacts.
If you try to do this fix it is of course at your own risk. I'm not an experienced repair guy, but I found it quite straightforward when following the steps in the linked repair manual (See my first post).

Unfortunately I am not so confident im my own skills to do such a task. I am still trying to find out someone to do it.

I sent my camera to Pierro Pozella in the UK. He fixed it (I guess) but unfortunately the camera was lost on its way back to Portugal. One UK transporter passed it to one continental transporter (GLS) and this last one delivered it to an adress in Madrid . They recognised their mistake. But in order to refund me they demanded a complaint of "item not arrived" from the original sender (!!!) and I was not able to obtain such statement from Mr Pozella (I tried several times). So he probably fixed it correctly but did not care very much about what happened after the camera was sent.
Just one experience...
