The only thing I haven't tried is shooting the US embassy.. but really... why poke a sleeping dog that you KNOW might bite.
Interesting thought... this guy decided to do some poking here in Seattle recently. Not sure he will be getting a settlement offer but he did get the cell phone picture in question as "the" cover of this weekly newspaper. Some of the reader comments shed a little more light on the characters in this drama.
As you can imagine I haven't followed up to find out the current status of this incident.

The video at the station for the Island Ferry in Seattle instructs people to turn in to the police any photographer who is crouching down in a dark hoodie to shoot photos using an SLR of the boat, or any thing else.
That is the most ****ing asinine thing I've heard in a long time.

Why settle for chump change? what is missing is the punitive piece which is usually the 80% part of any settlement.
Correct me if Im wrong, but to even file in District Court requries a $50K case. Thus a settlement for $8K means the prof got busted there too.
Anyhow, this is nothing to get worked up about. Law enforcement doent know much about law or they would be lawyers.

Disaster Area: With all due respect, you're kidding right? This is civil rights issue, not a question of the proper disposition of torte cases. The analogy is totally off base.
