SF20 for fill light

Neither the SF20 or the SF24 are designed for fill flash, even with the M6TTL and M7.
I use K64 and anyone that tells me to use available light even with my 35mm Lux ASPH, because they have some prejudice against flash is nonsensical.
The SF 24D is compact and can yield good results if one understands how the shadows will be rendered. I can't imagine some of the 'Rube Goldberg' ideas i have read of holding the flash off camera or use of other type objects.
For bounce flash I have a Metz unit that I can use on and off camera and the appropriate Leica adapter. The Metz head swivels in many directions and is capable of TTL flash except for when you have to use an external finder as I have to for my Leica 21mm ASPH. I then have to use Auto and it works well covering the 21mm frame adequately.
Basically if you want to use fill flash, one needs a camera with either a Synchro-Compur between the lens shutter or a modern digital camera with fast flash synch shutter speed. All else is a work around and I have not found the results useful.-Dick

Dick,
Just because you can't imagine the ideas some of us posted for Henk's question doesn't mean they don't work, or that gives you the right to denigrate those suggestions. It's all well and good that you have a Metz and it works for you, but that doesn't help Henk with his question. We are deliberately trying to keep things simple because he has a SF-20 and as he stated, it's his first flash ever.

I don't think that you are making things easier by trying to use a unit not designed for the task along with a camera system not designed for the task.

As Posted:
"Yesterday I bought an SF20 (my first flash ever) to use with my M6 "classic".
I have absolutely no experience whatsoever with using a flash.
I understand how to use it in low light conditions, but I wonder which settings
to make for using it as a "subtle" fill flash.

Which settings do you SF20 users make for fill flash ?"

What is needed is a basic knowledge of how different flash systems work
and a succinct answer to the question "Which settings do you SF20 users make for fill flash ?" which is 'None'.-Dick

I was able to buy this flash 2nd hand at a very good price, so I thought
why not. It will not be my most used Leica piece, but I'm sure it will be useful at times, even for fill light :)

I've been playing around with it, but the results have to be developed yet.

What I most like about it, it is simple in use.
