Anthony 008

Anthony 008

Anthony spent many years living on the streets of Sydney, in fact this doorway was his home for a while
I was lucky enough to be invited along when he revisited the area as part of a book he is writing on his experiences during his time on the streets
the graffiti on the wall is Anthony's

Very nice. Could you provide some settings specifics? Also, did you use the long exposure noise reduction setting?

Thanks,

Joel

The camera was set at 1600 ISO and AE with long exposure noise reduction turned on. The lens is a 35mm f/1.7 Ultron which was set at f/1.7 at all times,
the exposures were mostly 1/15th or 1/30th of a second this evening.

The top shot was smart-sharpened in PS CS2
The second was shot through a kitchen window

I don't use AE very often, only for quick snapping.

Many thanks for the response. I am gonna try some nighttime shots this year. I was wondering how well the long exposure noise reduction setting helps and if anyone has ever tried with and without comparisons.

Nice pic Joe. That's done in natural light with a f5.6? Was it "wide" open? And what speed and ISO did you need? Impressed by the way.

Great shot Joe! All the snow photographs around make me a bit envious at the moment.
I would love, to see snow again!

"fast garage" BMW in B+W | EPSON R-D1 | 35 Summicron ASPH | ISO1600

A dark parking lot, EPSON R-D1, as usual, fixed at ISO 1600 and one wide open Leica lens (I think, it was the 35 Cron ASPH in this case).

I don't care so much about the new BMWs - this scene catched my eye for the stark geometry of the floor marks and wall paint of the parking lot, combined with a fast car.

Loving this thread, there are some great images here. Here shot with an R-D1S with Canon 50mm f1.2 LTM:
