I thank you all for inspiring me to get into macro!
I love it. I have truly enjoyed my first few hours with this setup.

R-d1 --> Visoflex III (with chimney Hood) --> Leitz Bellows II

Skagen Watch & Leaf- 75mm color heliar

Nickel- Leica Summitar 50mm

Now I want to try some water drops, Could anyone recommend a macro ring flash?

Ring flashes give you circular donut shaped reflections of the flash on shiny surfaces, and don't give you much in the way of modeling. Try tenting the subject with white paper or cloth, using bounce cards etc., butunless you're illustrating a technical book where all sides must be illuminated don't use a ring flash.
 
I have a Minolta macroflash, made up of 4 separate tiny flashes. And you don't want to use all four together. Ringflash is indeed terrible.
Back from the X700 days. So I can use it with TTL on the CLE! Otherwise all manual.

Someone asked for Visoflex photos...this is a shot of a classic car MGA taillight (1:18 scale).

I was fishing in the E-Bay some nights before, and found a Visoflex I.

So setup as follows: Visoflex I with 45 degree magnifier, lens is a Helios 44, aperture 4.

At the beginning, it was not possible to tighten the LTM/M adapter in the correct angle. My first thought was: Throw the Viso back in the bay, but then I macgyvered a spacer out of a paper clip. The flange back changed for nearly 1,5 mm, which had obviously no effect to DOF. Can someone explain, why? Thats really a miracle for me. I have had expected serious front focus, but it has no effect. Epson settings are in order, I double checked it.

Here we go again...first one is a thought about the german "Abwrackprämie" ("wrecking fee"), you will get 2,500 bucks from income revenue service if you trade in your old car for a new one. But the old car has to be wrecked, even it is still in good condition and running. "Green thinking" or good work of the automobile industry lobby? Decide yourself. Taken with Viso II and Leitz Elmar 4/90, aperture 8, no bellows, but complete Elmar (with tubus).

Second one is a reminiscence of good old times and next sunday morning as well...plastilin "Stirling Moss" behind the wheel of his Mercedes "Silberpfeil" (the Maerklin slotcar one, from the mid-sixties, scale 1:32). Taken with Viso I, bellows, Hektor 135, aperture 8.

Hay I've been thinking of getting one for my RD-1, thought it would be fun and looks like it is! Hope there isn't a run on Visoflexes now with prices going up 😀!
 
@ dreamsandart: Fun? No, its not fun...it's food for the soul, it's contemplation.

You are coming home after a hard day at work. Take a deep breath. Go to the shelf, take the RD1, the viso...and for tonight, maybe the Elmar 4/90. Something to focus...maybe grand-grandpas watch.

Go to the desk, don't forget the tripod.

Now entertainment can start. Lightning. Scenerie. Playing the mirror-and-release-button-piano. Checking the results. Maybe another try...it was a nice and relaxing half an hour.

Try it out - it's really fun!

This week I found the below coin in my wallet, and first thought it was a falsh Euro. However it seems a new one, issued because of 10 years EMU. Here shot with Hektor 135mm on a Viso I with Bellows I.

Haha Ron, I had the exact same experience with that new Euro coin last weekend.
Thought it was a fake too, so I put it aside until someone told me it was legal currency

Oh, great job on the close-ups guys, now I have to get a visoflex too. 🙂

R-D1- Visoflex Telyt 280mm Moon Photos

Both 100% crop, tweaked exposure and sharpened.

Telyt-V 280mm F4.8 @ f22 on Visoflex III with Chimney Hood

Small moon with this setup above. With the sensor crop Telyt 280mm becomes a 420mm.

Large moon shot with a "BGN" Komura Telemore 95 2x Teleconverter from KEH added between Visoflex and R-D1 (in no way Bargain condition by the way, KEH really rates their equipment liberally! Looks new!)

Assuming the telemore is truly 2x this Telyt 280mm = 420mm(crop) + 420(teleconverter) = 840mm!
Taken 6 days later!

My sensor is dirty but just wanted to show how versatile the Viso system is with a teleconverter that does not have a great reputation.

I think this not so damn bad! Its the moon man!

CAN WE START A VISOFLEX FORUM!?

But I have to say that the color and the geometrical composition and the brightness and sharpness of your picture is exceptionell, Ron! Congrats!
Mine is just a try - taken with Leitz 4/90, Viso I and Epson R-D1

Well Andreas, for a try you did indeed very well, yours is also quite sharp!
Btw I forgot to mention that I shot mine with a summicron 50mm and used also the bollows I on the viso I. It was a very small juvenile mosquitoe sitting on my window in the sun.
 
Just 'won' a Visoflex I (1951) + Bellows + 135mm f/4 Hektor + a bunch of accessoires in a case on Ebay. Looking forward to taking some pictures of my painted miniatures with the R-D1

No experience with it yet, but I guess one would actuate the Visoflex mirror first and then press the shutter on the R-D1. Another type of double release cable would do the trick too perhaps?
 
Received it today. Set to work right away to learn how it works. This shot was a bit trial and error.
