Just finished up a roll, my first with this combo, of ektar 100 taken with my bessa r and CV 35/2.5.
First roll of ektar 100. And first roll with the CV 35/2.5 too.
Scanned with a v500.
Just wanted to share some of the photos and thoughts with all of you.
As to ektar 100....
I found color balance a little difficult to set correctly. Vuescan had some issues even after locking exposure and film base color. I had to adjust manually in lightroom.
That said, the grain seems minimal and I am happy with the results both in terms of grain and color.
As to the CV 35/2.5.....
I needed a little lens for my upcoming vacation and I wanted a 35mm focal length, so this lens appeared to fit the bill. I promptly ordered one (compact, not pancake version) from Mr. Gandy and I am very very happy with it.
The lens is tiny, even with the hood. The focusing lever is easy to use. I was a bit concerned about using the lever since I've never used one before but it only takes seconds to get used to.
At first I wished the lever were bigger since I was gripping it with my thumb and index finger. But if I instead just move it about with the pad of my index finger, the lever need not be any bigger. That method works best for me.
The lens is solid. Focusing is very smooth. The aperture click stops are nice and responsive.
I am pleased with the results from the lens too.
Anyway, enough of my babbling, here are some of the photos from the first roll - nothing earth-shattering, but I am happy. 🙂
^^Crab with "laser beam" eyes.
^^A neighborhood landscape.
^^Magical bunnies.
^^Happy ivy.
^^Bobcat bobcat bobcat.
^^It's required by law!
^^Oooo tree circles. A bokeh shot, just to see what it looked like. Focused at the minimal focusing distance.
Hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. 😀
Please share some of your own photos with this little gem of a lens.
