Just finished up a roll, my first with this combo, of ektar 100 taken with my bessa r and CV 35/2.5.
First roll of ektar 100. And first roll with the CV 35/2.5 too.
Scanned with a v500.
Just wanted to share some of the photos and thoughts with all of you.
As to ektar 100....
I found color balance a little difficult to set correctly. Vuescan had some issues even after locking exposure and film base color. I had to adjust manually in lightroom.
That said, the grain seems minimal and I am happy with the results both in terms of grain and color.
As to the CV 35/2.5.....
I needed a little lens for my upcoming vacation and I wanted a 35mm focal length, so this lens appeared to fit the bill. I promptly ordered one (compact, not pancake version) from Mr. Gandy and I am very very happy with it.
The lens is tiny, even with the hood. The focusing lever is easy to use. I was a bit concerned about using the lever since I've never used one before but it only takes seconds to get used to.
At first I wished the lever were bigger since I was gripping it with my thumb and index finger. But if I instead just move it about with the pad of my index finger, the lever need not be any bigger. That method works best for me.
The lens is solid. Focusing is very smooth. The aperture click stops are nice and responsive.
I am pleased with the results from the lens too.
Anyway, enough of my babbling, here are some of the photos from the first roll - nothing earth-shattering, but I am happy.
^^Crab with "laser beam" eyes.
^^A neighborhood landscape.
^^Magical bunnies.
^^Happy ivy.
^^Bobcat bobcat bobcat.
^^It's required by law!
^^Oooo tree circles. A bokeh shot, just to see what it looked like. Focused at the minimal focusing distance.
Hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
Please share some of your own photos with this little gem of a lens.

Nice David.
Your last shot reflects also my experience: the Color Skopar has the best (albeit a bit limited at f2.5) bokeh for 35mm RF, of all the lenses that I tried, including Summicron, Summaron, Nokton, etc.
Cheers,
Roland.

Another Washingtonian 35mm Skopar user here. I absolutely adore this lens.

It is a good lens design the cv 35 f2.5, I got the pII version, and its a nice optic, in a way much easier to use the my v3 summicon. It is a very usable and a great signature for black and white when used with XP2. Unfortunately I am not much of a 35mm user, preferring 28's so mine really doesn't get the use it deserves...
Shot with XP2, great for those contrasty street scenes.

Thanks Roland!
I havent tried any other 35mm lenses, but I really do like the rendering of the skopar. For example, I find the rendering of the out of focus house in the ivy photo to be quite pleasing.

Lovely photos all.
Hi Aziz. If I see somebody else walking around town with the 35/2.5 I'm going to have to stop him and ask if it is you.
Avotius: I havent had a chance to do any black and white yet. I am halfway through a roll of Tri-X now. Looking forward to the results. Great photo.

It's a very nice lens and a great bargain. I ended up selling mine (kept the Ultron 35 instead for its speed and lower contrast), but looking at the photos above I'm beginning to have regrets...

Got this lense a couple of weeks ago. Have developed two rolls and so far it has lived up to my high expectations. Maby a bit too contrasty in bright sunshine for b/w, but very sharp as far as I am able to tell. Here are two shots. Both Tmax 2 developed in x-tol:
