Considering that the mods here are pretty quick with deleting inappropriate posts (not complaining btw - rightly so most of the time), i sometimes wonder why kindergarten threads like this one don't just get erased for the good of mankind...

Not in my experience, but then again, how many samples of each has any of us tried?
As for 'sharp at f/8', well, yes, pretty much any lens should be.

All, right, pretty much any half-decent lens for small formats (35mm or less), especially prime lenses in the 50 to 90mm range. Not (for example) my 90-190/5.8 Yashinon or 90/6.8 Angulon.Some lenses aren't even sharp at f8.![]()

My sharpest lens for the 35mm format is the Canon f0.95. On my Leica M9 it's sharper than my Summilux at f8.
