Gosh, there are some good images in this thread. Much more intriguing than many "sharp" images.

I always believe that if you have to think about an image to interpret it, it makes you more invested in the image and have a connection to it.

An image like this reminds me of poetry compared with prose. Poetry does the same. It forces you to think about what the artist is saying and make your own interpretation of those words by relating them back to some experience or emotion you have had. Their words become more meaningful to you in this way.

Exactly the same with these kind of images. And I think this is why I like ambiguous images. Including blurry images when done well.

That's extremely well put Peter. Your analogy with poetry really cements what I had in mind, but I couldn't quite express it so concisely and eloquently.

Shot on a Jupiter-8 wide open on Fomapan 400. It's not a great picture technically but it's a great picture of my friend. That look is 100% him.
