Thanks for all of the advice, everyone. I'll carefully consider the best way to go about this, but I've got some ideas now.
Just an FYI, this is not a popular band; just some guys starting out playing. As I said, I'm only doing this as a favor, so my friend won't kill me if I don't get the best shots. I want to do the best I can, but I think some of you guys are assuming this is a higher pressure situation than it is!
I think I'll probably end up taking both RF and digital just to adapt to what works best as the concert progresses.
