Ignore It (It'll go away)
I have these wonderful Luigi half-cases. They're great, quality leather, classy look, excellent protection for my investment. However, the other day I finished off a roll of film, and pulled my M7 from its case to reload. I tucked the half-case into my camera bag, changed the film and started shooting some more. Unknowingly, I never put the half-case back on, because the camera felt so good in my hand, cold metal, like a real tool. Just a much better connection between me and the 'metal and glass' (as joe would say 😉 ). It took me about an hour to realize that the case wasn't on. I freaked for about 15 seconds, thinking I'd lost the thing, before realizing it was in my bag.
I put the case back on, but it didn't feel right. I'm sure we can come up with many many analogies that are very funny, but the point is: the camera felt so good in my hands. It was a completely different experience.
I like the half case, because I've shot for a longer period of time in much warmer weather and things get kind of sweaty, so I'm keeping the case. But I'm thinking that if I ever need to "wake up" a day of shooting, I may just go naked.
🙂
any thoughts?
