Officially, Iran has a strained relationship with the West,
and in particular, the USA. Billboards and Murals warn
the masses about the "Great Satan".

Looks like I can erase Iran off my list of vacation destinations! I think it's safe to say I would not be welcome, based on these images.

I'm enjoying the photographs themselves, though. Thanks for sharing.

Finally developed the last few rolls...

well a couple of things technically, as i scanned this 2 x 135 and 2 x 120 format,
i realised that there were a number of keepers. it wasn't surprising because these were
the last rolls of Tehran, just when I finally got a hang of using the M4 with the Summaron.

I went to the spice bazaar in South Tehran, this place was huge and sold spices outside
while inside were shops selling everything from shoes to clothes to watches. Men would
be selling stuff while the women would be shoppers.

Smack in the courtyard, I saw a tight group of men, holding phones and they seem to
be speaking to each other but also keenly aware as a group.

I was quite curious and then my guide told me they bought and sold the USD and thus set the
unofficial price of the US currency in Iran, in other words, a live black market in action.

raytoei, beautiful shots! it helps a lot to make myself a picture of the life in teheran...of course the pictures can´t offend since they document a fact of living in that country.

I found very impressive the pic of the cast plaster after the bombardment and loved the last pic from the girls posing for your TLR!!!

thank you for posting!!!

Beautiful sets raytoei. Iran is a place I would love to visit. I know a few Iranians and find them to be vey hospitable people, much like most of the people in every other corner of the world.

Hi,

I'm unearthing that wonderful thread. The photos look stuning.
I'm off to Iran this September, and I wanted to ask about X-Rays in airports. Khomeini airport is pretty new, and probably have modern equipment, but what about airports in other cities? I plan to go to Isfhan, Shiraz... and was wondering of my films? Shall I ask for manual inspection?

thanks in advance!
