i am interested in knowing whether any of you guys has shot tethered
with the leica and if yes do you know if it safe given the fact that a laptop and the camera work in different voltage (i think) and i have heard that this can cause damage to the camera .
please send me your opinion - knowledge etc
it would much appreciated.

thanks

Yes it work

Yes it work

I did some studio shooting with the M8 tethered but that was with MacOSX 10.4 it no longer will load with 10.5

i shoot tethered all the time..in studio...but only now that aperture 2.0 is out...the leica software does not work with 10.5 and even in 10.4 it is painfully slow....aperture works great....previews pop up nice and fast...there is an issue when shooting fast: frames are dropped...but only on the computer...the m8 writes to card AND shoots to the HD, so the frames can be imported later from the card....aple is aware of this and is working on a solution...i guess not to many people use the m8 to shoot tetherd, so i was the only one pointing this out to them....
afaik leica is working on an upgrade to the leica software for 10.5, but with aperture it is all in one app....very clean...and like i said..at least 3 times faster then the leica app in 10.4...

'tis true about shooting... yet for many, it's "seeing" the image on their computer /after/ the shot/shutter press: it's an instant gratification-through-software-on-the-computer that equates to "tethering".

Consider it as "my M8 is as my mouse: what my computer gives me is what I want".

Dave
