Difficult, if not impossible question to answer. I have the X PRO 1 and an NEX 5N. I love both of them, but if I could only have one I would choose the XP1.
Why?
Firstly it depends very much on what you want to use them for.
I supply stock agencies and the images have to pass their rigid quality control systems. Both cameras do this easily.
I think long term, from my point of view, the XP1 probably has more to offer (when Adobe get around to sorting out the RAW conversion issue), the XP1 lenses are far better than the Sony lenses. I dumped the 18-55 that came with the 5N after one days use and bought the 19mm and 30mm Sigma lenses, both exceptional value for money and very sharp across the frame.
The one thing that really struck me, in favour of the NEX, is that, I had to "learn" to use the XP1 and get used to its funny little ways. The NEX, I just picked up and used!
The NEX is a no fuss, useable out of the box camera. Focus locks every time, exposure is spot on every time. High ISO is not as good as the XP1.
And just to complicate matters further, I actually prefer the X100 to both of them!!!!!
Probably doesn't help you in your decision in the slightest.
