I'm getting well into RF's right now, but I dont want to regret this kind of decision.

My seagull/minolta MD camera ended up with light leaks and wind-on problems, so I got myself a Zenit-E to be happy with for a while. Still got the Zenit, but last year I bought myself an old Minolta Dynax 404si. The Zenit was a joy to use and hasn't been used much at all lately, but the Dynax hasn't been touched since January.

It still has *some* value, as I have the 35-70mm lens, a 24mm sigma, 70-210 and 75-300 sigma's also. I was thinking of holding onto them for a MAF-mount dslr, but Minolta have gone kaput!

I'm bulk loading my film, so the camera will go crazy trying to figure out ISO with my film, and the batteries are pretty expensive for it too, and I found mine to run down pretty quickly. I'll still have my reliable Zenit (and I may buy an adapter to use the MD lenses I have on it), and I have Canon 300D and a 1DmkII laying around also.

Think its worth getting rid of the whole Dynax camera/lens setup to get some disposable cash??

WWJD?*

EDIT: Dynax = Maxxum in the US

Thats what I heard, or read - apparently Sony bought some of the konica-minolta technology, but is it worth holding onto the lenses? I did that with all my MD lenses, hoping to get a MD-MAF adapter (to use with the dynax), which you now can't get for under £50-£100.

Why do you want to wait for a Minolta-mount DSLR when you already have Canon DSLRS? Why have so many different mounts anyway (LTM, Zenit (m39?), MD, EOS, ...)? Just sell it, but only when Sony releases their Minolta-mount DSLR, prices may go up a bit.

Resale of an old film SLR will not give you that much of a return. If desparate then OK you'll get some cash.

I was in the same position with a couple of AF film Nikons, I decided to keep them and pleased that I did. I ran a few rolls of Velvia through my F80 (N80 in US) when my D70 got too cold/wet last winter. Seeing the result projected was well worth it. I'll be hangin on to mine now. The D70 recovered perfectly incidentally.

What is a Seagull/Minolta?? Or am I mis-interpreting something? Separately I understand them but not together. Even different countries. I even understand Dynax, but never could figure out why they needed different names.
