Should start some arguments? Top 50 Cameras?

Well, I totally agree except for 1-15 and 17-20, and I'm not sure about 16.

Cheers,

R.

I like #18 myself!

Let's see, if I had to compile a list, in no particular order.....

Leica M3, Leica I (A), Ermanox, Kodak I, Certo Super Sport Dolly, Kine Exakta I, Pentax Spotmatic, Nikon F, Robot Royal 36, Alpa 10d, Hasselblad 500CM, Hasselblad SWC, Sinar P2, Olympus XA, Olympus Pen F, Rolleiflex 2.8F, Polaroid SX-70, Kodak Instamatic, Canon F1, Contarex (not sure which model is best -- maybe the Bullseye?), Speed Graphic, Zeiss Super Ikonta C, Linhof Master Technika, Nikon FE, Minolta X700, Minox II, Widelux F7, Contaflex TLR (just for being an engineering marvel, and I had one!), maybe something by Anthony (being one of the premier camera manufacturers in the US at one time), and um.....sorry, I ran out.

Can't even begin to think about any digital cameras....that's a whole other can of worms!

Vince, I agree and have owned and used many of your choices.

If I look around, who knows what is there, I may yet ?

It did not state only still cameras?, we sure used many rolls of Kodachrome, and the shop I worked at sold a lot of Bolex C8s, and Bolex 16mm

Talked to Igor today, and he disagrees with the choice of which Nikon Digital, and I am in your boat on those, I really like the images from a few digital cameras, but have not picked out the "right" DSLR, so my Nikon glass is sitting.

I went down the road to RFs because I just stopped carrying two large bags of mf equipment when traveling, which is where I shoot most.

Still, hard to not accept the impact of cameras you might not use today, if you can remain somewhat unbiased. I can see the C3 on the list, it was America's "slide" camera, used one, and have one- in the garage, found them very hard to use, but use them many people did.

Why bitch and complain about someone else's opinion? Make your own top 50 cameras ever thread here!

Not to spoil the party but unless I missed it, so far no one pointed out that this list is from 2010
and quote[ ...UPDATE - 21/10/11: A little over a year ago...]

And yes of course I'd put the MM on #1 :D

No Nikon F6  ... or is that just catagorised under Nikon F?

How can you leave out the most sophisticated SLR ever made ...

No Voigtlander Bessa II? Only 1 folder on the list? What sort of list is this?

Having a folder in your pocket gave you a lot of negative for the convenient size, I think I printed a lot of old family negatives which were certainly shot with folding cameras.

No Fuji Cameras as well, "Texas Leica"? XPan? The Fuji 645 Folder was a lot of MF camera in a coat pocket, the 645W? The 680?

Though only related by the use of the Voigtlander name, Cosina made quite a statement more than once and opened up many choices that complimented Leica quite well. I am trying to figure out how many cameras I have used the 12 and 15 mm lenses with?-- most recent is the Fuji Digital.

The more funny puzzle would be to present old "best camera" lists without indications of their origin and let us identify them by year, country and publication...
