Thanks Thomas. I'm putting my time into a new acrylic 4x5 field camera at the moment (currently making bellows) but will be back on the InsTLR back over the next few weeks.

Steve, have you considered (re)designing your InsTLR back for the announced Instax Square format?

Here's a Belair Instax Wide back hacked onto Crown Graphic.
Great job! I have a similar idea of hacking the Belair Instax Wide to fit on 4x5 cameras. Can I know which parts of the Belair back you removed to achieve this? Does the modified back require the ground glass to be moved further back to accommodate for the change in film plane distance?
Cheers!

The back has been sliced to 1.5 inches with slots to fit the Graflock tabs. On the Graphic it's easy to find lens infinity position and use the rangefinder. On a field camera you'll have to have to make a linear focus scale, since the back doesn't have a dark slide for mid-pack attach/remove.

Sorry, I haven't been on here for a while so missed this. I'd have to see the new square camera first to understand if it uses the standard sized cartridge and just crops a square image in the centre or if it uses entirely new dimension film. It could certainly be an option.
I've just picked up an Instax Mini 70 and am looking at printing a better grip for landscape orientation shooting along with fitting a second shutter button.

That would be cool Steve! Show us when you get a chance to tinker!

The Instax Square film is bigger - image area is 62mm square and overall film size is 72 x 85.6mm.

I have an instax back on my Wanderlust Travelwide. I can't describe the chop-chop modifications, but it fits snugly when I remove the spring clip. I'm using a 100/6.8 WF Ektar, which works well with the increased lens to film distance. I have an Olympus VF-1 finder which works well. I'll post photos soon.
