The Lotus sure is tiny! The whole front of the car appears dedicated to the radiator and air ducting. On my car the two radiators are under/behind the headlights and air exits into the wheel wells with fans. That leaves the center for (along with the gas tank) a useful trunk space...

In my experience with them 20 years ago, once in, I'm fine at 6ft. It's the getting in, especially with a roof up.

Shot these a couple of summers ago. Finally got around to developing the film yesterday....

Just to change it up a bit. Here is a NOT nice old car.

The chrome bumpers do indicate it's sorta/getting old, but it looks to be in nice condition. What do you feel is "NOT nice" about it?

Akiva, what a brute of a car. It looks like it’s bullet and bomb proof. I bet if you drove it into a brick wall the only damage done would be to the wall. That said, it is a nice picture. Well done!
All the best,
Mike
P.S. I bet the gas mileage sucks!

My guess is a 1962 Mercury Comet 2 door. Maybe Sky Blue paint scheme?
Fun challenge!

Hm, that was my first thought, too, but most Fairlanes I found had only single tail lights, not dual.

I think you might have nailed it!
That sounds about right.

It’s an advantage of being old, and growing up in a time before “standards”, when no two cars looked alike, nor did they look like either last year’s model or next year’s.
Makes it easier.
Now everything more or less looks like a used throat lozenge, so new ones are much harder for me. Uninspiring, mostly.
Though a ‘62 Comet was fairly uninspiring as well.
I think this is a 1959 Mercury 4-door hardtop, under restoration in Reedley CA

1983, so not that old.
My "practical" car. Have been doing paint and body work on it for the last year, finally finished it about a month ago. Though they are never really finished.
New engine, new 5 speed. 300,000 miles on the clock.
Am happy with how it turned out, not perfect, but painted in my driveway, so those are never perfect. Mine aren't anyway.

It looks pretty darn good for a 37-year-old car with 300,000 miles, Larry!

Sweet ride, Larry! I drove a blue FJ40 for several years back in high school and college.

Thank you, Peter. I had an FJ40 about 27 years ago, which I mistakenly sold. Seemed prudent at the time. Got this one around 21 years ago, probably a better driver day in and day out. FJ40 takes some real commitment.
