Show me a nice old car

You are on a roll as of late Mike, making for a very enjoyable thread.

Thank you, Guth!

I used to live a carefree life. I’d walk down the sidewalk with a song in my heart and a smile on my face. Now, because of this “Show me a nice old car” thread I walk around the town like some wild animal hunting its prey. I have a camera in my hand preset for fast action and my finger on the on/off switch; my head is constantly swiveling around scanning the streets for a nice old car. Somehow I’ve turned into a car hunter! When my wife is walking with me she’ll point out a car for me and say “isn’t that a classic car?”. I’ll excitedly look where she’s pointing and then shrug and say “naw, it’s just a Mazda RX7, not classic enough for the thread”. You’d be surprised how many cars look promising from a distance; even a Toyota Prius can fool you if it’s far enough away! And, then there’s the ones that getaway!

Yep, I used to be a carefree pedestrian…

All the best,
Mike :)

Also known as the Brick or a T25 or T3. We have one, as a useable vehicle it is so much better than its much loved and now expensive predecessor.

According to my daughter who lives over there with her husband and kids, the answer is yes. Japan is extremely clean in those respects.

A Rover Mini?
This car has a Rover badge on the hood

Per Wikipedia: On its introduction in August 1959, the Mini was marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini-Minor. The Austin Seven was renamed Austin Mini in January 1962 and Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. In 1980, it once again became the Austin Mini, and in 1988, just "Mini" (although the "Rover" badge was applied on some models exported to Japan).

This car has a "V8" badge on the trunk lid. Very curious.

Loved the "Mini Moke" when it was a Mini Moke. The BMW remake seems to be just a money pit. FWIW, two German jokes about BMW: Bayerische Mist Wagen (Bavarian Manure Wagon) and BMW, Absteig und Geh (BMW, Get off and Go [walk]). That said, let me post this of a Rolls that lives here in town as a bit of advertising. A look at the front wheels indicates a front end job is due for those ball joints. As it never seems to leave the parking lot I doubt it will get the work. Taken with my new to me KMZ Jupiter 12 35mm f/2.8, probably at f/8.0 on an M9. Size reduced in GIMP. Already posted to a "what have you recently foolishly spent money on" or similar thread.

Thanks, Mike! I once had a Triumph TR3(a). Also had a '67 Ford Falcon at the same time. Quality of build about the same!
Wish I had kept the Triumph - easy to work on.

Thank you, Besk! I wish the TR3 in my post had the front and rear bumpers mounted; can't imagine why they're not.

All the best,
Mike
