WOW, my mom as a teenager had a car like that. I think it was called a Hulk Stud by Becker Motors, or something like that. There is a picture of her in it in an old family photo album when she lived in Alaska. I remember she said "it had a bad battery".

First Subaru to make it to the shores of the US across the Ocean from Japan.
It was transported by ship, as it was incapable of swimming. Looks like it might have been a nice one. Particularly if that's the recent condition.
Subaru was noted for starting out with the "boxer" engine layout and not using a more conventional inline upright engine. The engine in the 360 was probably a flat pancake style two cylinder oppose ending, much like a BMW "airhead" motorcycle engine. The 360 may have denoted cubic centimeters... now, that's small!
Interestingly, Subaru was a division of Fuji. The Subaru 360 was the first mass produced automobile, basically mass produced as an arm of Fuji.
It might be an interesting coincidence to have one of the new Fujifilm X faux rangefinder cameras, and travel around in a Subaru 360.

They didn't sell the 360 series to Europe. I think Subaru started with the small car Justy here, around 1980. Subaru's sold here were all 4x4. The coolest one ever was sold in the US too, the Leone (GL/DL1600), seen it first in the movie "Bonny and Clyde". By far the coolest Japanese compact car.
