I am not sure which I like more, the composition of the photo, or the design elements on the car. Anyway, nice.
Thank you, Larry! I tried several different compositions, but I think I like this one the best, too.
This is my co-worker's car, and he mentioned that at one point in the car's life, it was a parade vehicle. The three prongs on the front bumper are flag holders. It was also originally from LA's famous Felix Chevrolet dealership. There are a number of Felix the Cat stickers and decals on the car. If you zoom in, you can see one of those stickers on the bottom corner of the front windshield in Post #1383.

Dear Board,
I stumbled on this beauty today. Powered by a 350 plus HP engine from a Case backhoe and it was built in the guys shop which is actually his garage at his house.
The cab was once was a 45 International Harvester pick-up. The grill and front lights are from a 37 Ford pick-up. Everything else was fabricated in his home shop including the bed and the front and rear suspensions, and even the frame.
Pretty is in the eye of the beholder, and this girl is drop dead gorgeous to me!

Scanning the details, a very interesting rig, Tim! I only question the placement of the fire extinguisher, a good thought but might be hard to reach if there were an engine fire! And I'll guess the exhaust is loud...

Dear Doug,
It was surprising quiet. I see and hear dozens of diesel pickups that are far more noisy every day.
I followed the guy after he left, since we were going in the same direction. What was really neat was on an uphill grade his rat rod belched smoke with each gear change and it coincided with the belches from an old Mack dump truck dropping gears as he was coming down the same hill with forklift on the trailer.
I've spent my entire working life in and around construction equipment as a salesman and now as a department manager for a heavy haul trucking company.
I love to see old iron, in any way shape or form.

Tim Murphy

Just an engine and radiator shell from a thirties Talbot in the Haynes collection, but a streamline mascot that shows movement and speed. Talbot were at one stage a maker not far removed from Rolls Royce, but were absorbed by Rootes then Chrysler finally Peugeot, by which stage it was just a mid market brand, killed in the 80s.

Splendid color and details! That Pentax 105/2.4 is really a gem of a lens.
