Yes, I know someone who's just restored a 300SEL 6.3 that the owner walked away from in a mechanic's yard. Didn't like the quote for the suspension repair. The later Rolls Royces have hideous brake repair bills I've heard.

American cars. Love them too.

That’s a 1957 Eldorado Bairritz convertible. I’d be taking a gander at it as I walked by, too as I have never seen one in the flesh.
Only 1,800 made and cost $7,300, which, in 1957, was as much as a small house.
Criminy.

For me this is as good as it gets...or something along those lines.
I did consider taking the roof of my saloon, some do, but it is really not the same thing. This is an original. You can tell because it has two jacking points close together.

Yes, original. I spoke with the owner once. An older man. Loves this car of course.

P.S. Sorry if this isn't up to my normal standard of photographic quality, but I was taken by surprise when it rolled by and I did the best I could do in the situation.

Living in the States, I have never even heard of that Renault! Interesting design.

Practically a quarter century old is old enough, by my standards anyway. As I am not at all familiar with this car, I'm grateful that you shot it and posted it here. That looks like it would be a lot of fun. Quite the unique design.
Thanks as always for sharing!

Larry, that picture of the Porsche (post #2509) is about as good as a picture can be. It should be hanging in a gallery or museum somewhere. Well done!
Also, that car (in my opinion) looks best from the angle you’ve chosen. Probably one of the few cars that look better from the back than the front.

Thanks Mike, that road supposedly leads to what I imagine is a pretty interesting cemetery, but I haven’t found it yet. Going to have to wait until Spring, then try again. It’s the kind of place I love. Get out, walk around for a while, take some leisurely photos, and never see another car. On the other hand, if you break down, you’ll never see another car. I kind of like that too, to be honest.
