Godfrey, you should recognize this one.

For sure, looks just like my old friend Bob's Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior did way back in the day, dressed up sans bumpers to look like the GTA.

Nice color on that 911S! That looks to be about a '71 or '72 ... My uncle had a same-year 911E (same chassis, fuel injection rather than carburetors, slightly lower state of tune engine, somewhat more luxuriously appointed interior, pneumatic self-leveling system acting on the front suspension). It was a lovely car to drive, but like all the Porsche 911s of that time period, with the stock exhaust it sounded like a tin can full of nuts and bolts rolling down the road when you downshifted at high rpm to decelerate. His was silver with a saddle-tan interior.

'69 911S Aubergine w/SC flares added.
A '72 would have an oil tank fill flap on the right side to put the oil in the dry sump system, just behind the door jam. Passenger side mirror is just for looks or to meet regs over there in Japan as its location is for right hand drive cars and virtually useless when put there for a left hand drive car. You can't see thru the 'A' pillar.

Ah, thanks! A little earlier than my uncle's, then. I'd forgotten that the S had dry sump lubrication ... That wasn't true of the other models, was it?

Austin A110 or A125 yes, Sheerline though it may not be a limo, there were plenty of saloons.

I am not aware of a wet sump Porsche except maybe the later SUV's and Panamera. No 900 series Porsche had wet sump except the 912's.

Thanks! I've never really followed Porsche details very closely. I just remember that both my uncles had one for a time. The silver 911E my uncle had was a cool car.

It is a one-off IIRC. Custom built for the fellow who owns the museum and a striking auto. All it takes is money, lots of it. If you fancy French cars, this is THE place: https://mullinautomotivemuseum.com/home/
