Yes, that seems about right, Mike. A lovely, restrained "business coupe" ...

A great car and it looks like it has some subtle Abarth modifications. Curious to see that the Japanese are happy with left hand drive though you'd be hard pressed to find a good right hand drive Fiat 500 that hadn't suffered badly from British winters.

Quite the study of contrasts all-around. I've never been all that drawn to cars in black and would never want to own one in this color myself given the fastidious upkeep needed to keep them looking good. However, if ever a car were meant to wear black and wear it well, the '69 Camaro certainly qualifies. Classic indeed.

What sort of hand gesture is the BMW driver showing the Camaro driver?

Doug, I thought if anybody would notice that it would be you. LMAO! It's not a common gesture in Japan. The guy was probably just pointing at something with his middle pointer.

He's probably pointing to that stupid looking trunk rack. It belongs on a Porsche, maybe, but not a Camaro.

No way I could get any photos, sadly, but the other day as I was driving the Lancia to Alice's Restaurant a couple of youngsters in a Triumph TR8 pulled up next to me ... All giddy that their car was finally working, it seems, and just delighted to see someone in a Fulvia who knew what it was. Funny guys.
And then at Alices, as I and two friends were about to head off south on Skyline for a nice triplet of oldies ('73 BMW 2002, '71 Porsche 914, '67 Lancia Fulvia Coupe), a McLaren something or other and a Ford GT came ripping up Hwy 84 from the west and spurted across Skyline down towards the east. It was like two spacecraft touching the ground for a moment or three. Have to say, the McLaren I have no connection to, but the Ford GT replica (what, about 2005 or something like that?) is quite the beautiful machine.

Yokosuka_Mike - You see such an incredibly diverse array of vehicles there where you are at. A few years ago I purchased a bundle of Japanese magazines via the big auction site. I bought the bundle as a few of those magazines focused specifically on the Honda S2000, but they were all automotive related in some way. While I could not read any of them, I still marveled at all of the photos along with the sheer amount of technical information that the S2000 specific magazines appeared to contain. A couple of the magazines focused on the garages/workshops of those people who I'm guessing lived far outside of the large cities. The lengths that they went to in order to fix up their spaces was beyond impressive. I got the impression that to be an "enthusiast" in Japan means taking things to a completely different level. Your images only help to reinforce this impression.
I realize that I've complimented your images in the past. Just know that I continue to enjoy them. By the way, I'm guessing that it takes a great deal of determination to drive a Chevy Blazer over there.

Thank you, Bill, thank you very much. Your comment is sincerely appreciated. By coincidence I took a picture of an S2000 last week. If you click the image once then once again it should enlarge it for you.
