You left out the most important information -- what's the vehicle?
The Wikipedia entry says that, it's true -- but I am pretty sure it was a Pierce Arrow -- I wouldn't have even heard of a PA other than that show. (And I'd never heard of a Porter until I saw your note!)No..it was a Porter !

I would say a Renault 10, see sliding rear windows and the remains of trim on the sides.
The Simca 1000 looks similar but is rather more 'go faster'.
