Hey there - thanks ! The bright light you see throughout the printing sequence is actually a light I rigged up with a foot switch to shine white light into my fixer tray. That way I don't have to turn on all of the room lights to check the values on a new print.
I needed to do this for the time lapse - since you have to lock down the exposure before you start filming I had to make a choice. I did not want to let the camera make exposure changes throughout the printing sequence, which meant I would have to rig up something for checking my prints without turning on the lights. When I turned the lights on for the last half I picked a new exposure and color balance. I had wanted a light like this over my sink for years, this time lapse was just a good excuse to get it done.
The enlarger is actually in the far back of the room in its only little area.
Ah, got it! That's a beautiful setup you have; it puts my darkroom to shame. I also appreciated the notes on your process.
