I just received my first rangefinder, a 1950 contax IIa with a 50 f2 sonnar lens. I shot one roll of color and one roll of black and white. I was extremely impressed by the quality. This camera is amazing.

Are they serving Czech beer in Bavarian glasses in the states? Your picture shows a Hofbräu glass.

Mine came in a box dissembled. I spent over a month replacing ribbons, main spring and calibrating everything.
Was not easy but I was very happy with the end result.

But now it works perfectly and it was faster (cheaper) than Henry.

it needs shutter work...

nice match for my IIa
wanted a camera for 35mm focal length work
so will use it with a J12

Yes I too have the madness.

All of these work including all firing on 1/1250th - cannot guarantee it is 1/1250th but it produces a comparable neg to 1/500th at a smaller aperture so they are probably all a bit out!

I was just given my grandfathers Contax III serial nr B....
It is nicely brassed, with a jenna f2 50.
It need some TLC New shutter ribbons and light meter fix if at all possible. I guess Henry Scherer is the place to send it...
