Thanks Wolves3012, if it wasn't for your Zorki CLA sticky, it would probably still be sitting in the drawer!
I was concerned that as the slow shutter speeds weren't working it may have a knock on affect on the others - having "been in there" now I understand how it works & that this wouldn't have been the case, but it's nice having it all working 🙂
I took a few test pics on the end of a roll & had them developed on Friday. The slow speeds seem fine for colour print film, I was surprised I managed to hold 1/8th second with my Russar 20 & it's not shaky 🙂 None worth putting on here though!

Picked up for £7 on a car boot sale. The camera has never been used according to the old lady who sold it and i believe her. The camera looks like mint and the film advance lever works so smoothly. The case is not even creased from opening-closing.
The lens was gummed up, took it apart and re-lubed it. Now works like a charm...

Hey all first ever post 🙂

not boasting, but as you'll all appreciate the significance, I have just been given a job at Leica's store in Mayfair London, iv worked in a camera shop all my working life, and did an A-level some when, but I never got too familiar with RF, so with that fantastic opportunity ahead of me, I went to my local antique camera shop (Photographica in Aurndel, West Sussex, UK, if anyone hear knows it) and got this:




As I'm sure you are aware, its a Zorki M3 with the turret finder, a Jupiter-8 1:2/50 with a Hoya metal lens Hood, and yellow filter for good B+W measure 🙂

im still new to all this, but i'v got a roll back and i am amazed, (only had my meter with me for half the roll though 🙁 )

Don't take it to work with you or there may be copyright issues 😀 seriously though! congrats on the job and the camera! enjoy it!
 
My 1937 FED. The last FED I will ever buy. No lens mount. No pressure plate. Shredded Shutter. And every fastening screw missing.

Restored, with pressure plate (covered by shutter), ready to shoot again. Lens mount came from a donor Zorki. Lens register and RF focus calibrated to Leica standard.

..proud owner with Industar-61 53/f2.8. Recently recovered with genuine black leather instead the original synthetic leatherette.. I know its altering the original 'n stuff, but just couldn't resist😉 just love the size, the heft, the balance, the feel and smell of my first FSU. And it works flawlessly btw.

To paint that requires a lot of special skills.

Enough skill to take the camera apart- you need to remove all the top components to work on the top plate, the chrome trim on the body, and the base plate.

Then you will also have to know how to remove the chrome, by chemical, physical, or electroplate methods.

And finally, you will need to know the proper method for painting so that the painted surface will last and wear hard, as well as as knowledge in choosing the best paint to use.
