hope you will be together as long as my Fed and I have been, 45 years!!!!!!
Bought on a school trip to Russia in 1962.
John

That's a long trip, and must be very interesting. :)

My new friend had lied somewhere for a lot of years before it belongs to me. Before I really hold it in my hand, I had thought to respray it to black. But when I saw it I decided to keep what it had been in the past 40 (maybe) years.

As to the next 45 years, mmm ..., I will try to live that long.

Will, Vlad & Yek ... great additions to this thread !

That is the Lafayette selenium light meter. It is almost dead and works on sunny days only.

I have a fed 5 that i broke as soon as I got it -- it has a meter that works pretty well -- that cube of yours is giving me ideas

Precious Baby Of 1955

Precious Baby Of 1955

Here is my precious baby of 1955 which accompanied me on my holiday this summer (photos currently being processed). She found herself a nice 1940 Summitar although still without hood; so they can't have save sex..

My New FED2(c?)

My New FED2(c?)

Hi there, just thought I would tag along and show a couple of pictures of my (new to me) FED2. I'm just coming to the end of the first film that I've put through it so I've no idea if it's actually OK or not!

Not the last one that I have bought, but a real nice user. Tried on a non-vintage lens. (forgive me, I am so weak, a serial GAS victim).
Dave.

Hi Dave,
Your Zorki 5 attracted me the most. Would you like to introduce for some of us this model of zorki and say a few words about your particular sample?

Cheers,
Ruben

Not that I am not going to do my homework, but still.

Ruben,

I know you did not address that to me, but I'll say a few words anyway. The Zorki 5 is a lovely camera provided bottom-loading does not bother you. It has a nice bright VF with a wide-base RF (same width as the FED 2). The early model, as Fidget posted, is supposedly prone to problems with the lever-wind mechanism. Later models have a round RF window with a bezel on it. These too have winder issues because the gears are often adjusted incorrectly. I cleaned and lubricated mine then adjusted the gears carefully - now it is light & smooth.

P.S. Photo of mine, wearing a J-11, is on page 7 of this thread.

Look what arrived today... the FED-2 that I've mentioned before...
fed-2.jpg

The lens is odd. It has no clickstops for the apertures, and is shown to have a focal length of 52mm (2.8/52). Having bought a (poorly) FED-4 last week, its lens is an Industar-61 as well, but that one has clickstops and has a focal length of 53mm (2.8/53). Hmm...
