During my time in graduate school, I bought many Leicas, such as Leica Ms from US military surplus auctions. These ranged from unused or like-new to well-used with separated prisms. I was able to restore them to working conditions. While I do own the original black-painted Leica, I prefer the durability and high quality of modern paint. An example is my IIIc, which chrome plating loss is common due to post war poor quality, I restored it including a glossy black repaint, CLA, and replacement of the shutter curtain and beam splitter mirror.

The Sure Shot Owl has a really nice big vf, one of the few p/s cameras with 35mm lens. That's my 3D design. 😊

Leica III from 1934
Leitz Summar 50mm f/2.0 from 1937. Well-worn but clear optics. Somewhat soft look. I love it.

Got this Leica I (5 digits serial) converted to Standard for a couple hundred €'s.
It was advertized having a faulty shutter, but after testing the camera, the only problem seems to be a slightly irregular exposure through the frame at higher speeds.
Coupled it with a Summaron that was sitting without use. It's a pretty fun camera to use because of lack of anything unnecessary. Makes me want to go out and shoot lots of street

Hi everyone, I did a little youtube video about my Leica III camera - beautiful camera - if anyone is interested to check it out:
Coldkennels
Barnack-toting Brit.
Had a bit of a different setup than usual today:

I've owned this RASAL (yes, I have the 105/135mm mask insert!) for months and never used it. Got it (boxed!) in a job lot with some other bits, so I thought a bit of downhill skateboard slalom was the perfect opportunity to give it a try.
Truly, one of the more completely ludicrous setups I've ever used. I think I'll stick with a SBLOO. 😅

Whatever
Don't think I've posted this one in this thread....
1937 Leica IIIa with a 1937 5cm f/2 Summar. Looks run-of-the-mill, right? Nope -- see the 'S-T' on the top plate? That's 'Spécialités Tiranty', which elevates it from the mundane to a rather scarce camera. Philippe Tiranty was one of the very early Leica dealers (1925) and cameras sporting his company's markings are very desirable. I think I was pretty lucky to have stumbled upon one.

I just got this unusual Leica I (C) from 1931. I guess long ago, someone removed the paint and left it just brass. I like the patina but wonder about the orange dots on the top plate. The camera came CLA'd and works like a dream. It is great for my shooting as I like to zone focus and use Sunny 16 for exposures.
Comments would be welcome.

Nice. Good to see that it still has the original shutter button!View attachment 4858462
The 1928 Leica IA that I got a few months back has just come back from a Cameraworks-UK overhaul and now has a first roll of FP4+ inside.
