Also an Elmar 50mm f3.5 (or Industar 22) for it's sheer smallness, which is a positive characteristic of this camera.

Here's a new pic of the IIIc, with its new 'fixed' summi... the reflection in the lens of the serial number ruins the photo, but its too early in the morning (11am, still technically the night before) to photoshop it out

I always liked this shot of my IIIa and Summitar.

I inherited this puppy and it needs some TLC . . .
Looks good to me. That's often the shape I get 'em in... I Love a challenge! Have fun! My motto: "Beater is Better!"

My IIIA arrived missing the covering for the eyepiece on the right. Does anyone know where I can get one of these? Thanks
Pesphoto, that piece is not easy to find on the bay, but DAG have those parts, better contact them:http://www.dagcamera.com/leica.htm
only the window cost 25 and there also the metal ring that holds it. it's going to be expensive!

Thanks! Dag does has the parts in stock. $32 for the window and metal ring together.

Just a thought: can't you just take a Orako orange filter? Should cost about the same and would improve focussing.. Don't know whether on your model you replace the window with the Orako or if you put the Orako above the clear glass window, afair the Orako has no thread.

The orange filter fits over the window rim with a slip fit. You have to have the window installed first. DAG had both sizes, the Orako and the Okaro, when I bought one for my IIIf. The IIIa and IIIf filters are not the same size.

Can you educate me about this orange filter? Is it a better way to go?

I have one on my IIIa as the RF was a little dim. It increases the contrast between the two windows and makes focusing easyer.

Or for cheapskates like me, use a piece of coloured acetate from a cheap Cokin filter :D
