Leica II (1931), Hektor 50mm f2.5 (1930) and even the film is correct date! Kodak black and white - expiry date "July 1931".
I did shoot a couple of the rolls, rated it at 0.5 iso and developed it in Rodinal 1:50 for 10 min. The film had the consistency of a watch-spring and it was a bit difficult to load on the developing reels. I had to cut it in three short pieces and load three reels with 10-12 exposures each.
I suspect that the tin-can was the "pro-pack" of the 1930. Film is not in a cassette, just wrapped in dark green paper with a sleeve over the leader. You load it in a FILCA cassette - pull out the leader and remove the black sleeve. I had to resort to shooting it with an M rather than the Leica II as the film pressure plate in the II would not accept the film due to the bends. Came out OK for something 80 years old too.
The Hektor 50f2.5 is one of the best looking of the early Leica LTM lenses, nickel plated and for its time - a fast lens. Did cost almost 4 times as much as a "regular" Elmar 50f3.5.

Another strange one. It is a Leica IIIc that was converted to a IIIF Black Dial with self timer (probably in 1951/52). The lens is a Canon 35f3.5 (not one of the better Canon lenses!). The finder was a swap-meet find from long ago. Made in Japan - you dialed in 35/50/90/135 frames by turning the wheel on the side. Quite decent optics in the finder - better than the Leica VIDOM's. Looks a bit like a fishing reel! In the end I gave it away - too big and bulky.
 
Same setup as I am carrying with me lately.
Hektor is great, but I cant mount it on M with adapter as it has infinity lock at 11.00h.
I don't want to complain Tom, but Leica II was introduced in 1932.
What is S/N of yours camera? Mine is very early - 71470.

I was playing around with some new LED lighting so I grabbed my grandfather's IIIc which was attired in a Mr. Zhou case and an appropriate wrist strap.

My beautiful combo - recently acquired IIIf RD ST with Summarit and later added Leicavit. Oh, and Aki Asahi leatherette which fits perfectly and is not too much different than original vulcanite.

My IIIF with Compartment case

Here is my IIIF black dial with compartment case. The IIIF came from Dag, the case and film containers from Keeble and Shuchat, and almost everything else from that auction site. When I first got the case I had enough equipment to fill eleven slots and that included the five film containers. I met a lot of very kind people who helped me outfit the case. Actual photo was scanned in, taken with a Leica M3, 90mm Elmar, and Broncolor Impact strobes.

I suppose I should have specified...I only removed the leatherette that was cracked, brittle and falling off. I dont believe that would affect light-tightness. Quite honestly though, I think I have two rolls from this camera still waiting on development, so I can't say for sure that your not onto something.

Quick snap before a afternoon downtown.

These camera's are so small, ive yet to use it with a handstrap/neckstrap, it fits nicely in my coat pocket, even with the VF and Winder.
Along with not wanting to marr the strap lugs, this particular camera is in amazing condition. Original covering with virtually no marks on the chrome. Sometimes I think I catch sight of a bright mark or two, until I realize they are finger oil smudges >.<

The camera was recently CLA'd (how recent?), so I was told, Shutter is strong and free of wrinkles, Images have been right on.

Thinking of letting this one go, I had intended on doing a black paint conversion, but when I recieved the camera it wasnt the roughed up worn out camera I was told I was buying. Pleasant suprise indeed! After about 20 rolls of cautious handling, im ready to hang loose with a beater and let this guy go to a collector. No rush to move, PM me if you'de like to adopt this beauty. (w/o syoom/serenar)(w/orig baseplate)
